We’ve talked with people like you, and here’s what they said about professional development:
They don’t need another management course spoon-feeding them basic and well-worn platitudes.
They don’t want yet another conference to collect more ideas that they’ll never get around to implementing.
They’re tired of case studies, tactics, and information overload. After all, if information were the answer, we’d all be billionaires with washboard abs.
What they DO want is…
…a guide to help them cut through the fog to focus on what really matters in building a great organization.

…a sounding board where they can “think out loud” with similarly accomplished peers because they’ve been there too.
…a safe space to finally admit that thing that’s holding them back with no negative repercussions, AND know they are supported on their journey of self-improvement.
…a teacher who’s willing to read all the books and give them a distillation of the most practical points.
…an ally to help you convert your big ideas into manageable actions; to hold them accountable for progress, give them encouragement, or lovingly kick them in the seat of the pants when called for.
Oh yeah…they’re really busy, so all of this should happen automatically, without having to think about and coordinate it.
If this describes you, then you need a Wizard Roundtable!
Wizard Roundtables are professionally-facilitated peer learning experiences for Nonprofit Executives–anyone who works in a nonprofit and reports to a board of directors (Executive Directors and CEOs).

Hi! I’m Darren and I facilitate the Nonprofit Wizard Roundtables.
I used to be an Executive Director. Day after day, it seemed like I was running as fast as I could just to keep up. The job was so demanding. Being responsive to staff. Being responsive to members of the board. Being responsive to donors.
Then I would see other EDs and CEOs who seemed to have it all figured out. Their organizations were doing amazing things. They were constantly composed and kept all the plates spinning perfectly, seemingly without any effort at all.
It seemed like they knew something I didn’t. A magic formula perhaps.
I made it my life’s purpose to study the Wizards…

Through my podcast, coaching, and professional networking, I’ve had the opportunity to “go deep” with hundreds of high achievers.
I found several commonalities among them:
-
They think about their vision for their organization in a deliberate manner.
-
They are systematic.
-
They regularly retreat from the daily grind of their jobs to regain perspective and perform critical thinking.
-
They have an impartial person in their lives–call it a mentor, a coach, friend–with whom they check in regularly as a “thinking partner.”
-
They have a trusted peer group with whom they can be completely transparent and vulnerable.
Most have spent years developing and integrating this structure into their lives.
The end result is they become better versions of themselves, achieving organizational outcomes while enhancing their personal well-being.
What if you don’t want to spend years? What if you want it right now?
We created Wizard Roundtables to give you instant access to the tools, techniques, and networking the Wizards rely on to make their magic happen.

How are Wizard Roundtables different?
We like to say that Wizard Roundtables are the highest impact professional development opportunity available to results-oriented executives.
Why?
Built specifically for Nonprofit Executives
-
Mindful of the proliferation of “emerging leaders” programs, Wizard Roundtables cater to seasoned executives.
-
Unlike conferences aiming for wide appeal to entire staffs, Wizard Roundtables laser-focus on issues important to CEOs/Executive Directors.
-
Members help craft retreat agendas based on their needs.
Outstanding members
-
Groups are invitation only.
-
Members are equally dedicated to helping fellow cohort members learn and grow.
-
Retreats feature open dialogue and constructive feedback.
Professional Facilitation
-
Experienced, talented facilitators keep discussions focused and productive.
-
No wandering into the weeds, tangents, or rants by domineering members.
Complete Confidentiality
-
Cohorts draw from all over the U.S.; this means no one in your group knows your staff or your board members.
-
No competition with peer group members for donors, staff talent, or board talent.
-
Members have confidence in sharing their most intimate struggles without danger of “going public” (only seasoned nonprofit executives understand this statement).
Emphasis on Implementation
This is the secret ingredient. Wizard Roundtable members are able to create magic because of what happens after the retreat.
New knowledge is useless if it isn’t put into practice. How many times have you been fired up at a conference for all the new things to implement, only to have your flame be snuffed out by the responsibilities of everyday life when you get back home?
To counteract this, you will leave each retreat with monthly implementation calls pre-scheduled with your coach. This will position you for massive success.
How does it work?
Roundtable membership is a two year program. With your tuition, you get:
-
Membership in a cohort of no more than 12 peer executives.
-
4 semi-annual, two-day group retreats.
-
4 half-day virtual meetings (scheduled at the midpoint between retreats).
-
Monthly coaching calls.
Additional benefits include:
-
Private Facebook Group for forum questions, quick polls, etc.
-
Additional private coaching calls as needed.
-
Benchmark data sharing.
-
Annual planning facilitation for member organizations.*
-
Board engagement assessments.*
*Additional participation costs may apply.
Your investment
We’ll be honest, we didn’t exactly invent this concept. Similar experiences have been offered to business executives and startup founders for years.

These programs generally run anywhere from $10,000 to $30,000 per year.
Remember, membership is invitation only. If you are selected, your investment is $299 per month or $3,247 if paid in a single installment.
This amount includes your hotel and food at twice-per-year retreats (travel is your responsibility).
Who can join?
Membership is only for a select few. You must be:
-
Key employee reporting to board of directors (CEO/Executive Director/General Manager).
-
Must have 5 years or more experience in a leadership position at a nonprofit organization (not necessarily with your current organization or in your current role).
-
Interest in professional and personal development.
-
Openness to constructive feedback.
-
Commitment to representing yourself in an authentic way.
Roundtables are non-discriminatory; diversity respected.
