Board Training

Being an effective board member takes more than just attending meetings.

Are the members of your board effective?

Are you positioning them to be effective? Or are you setting them up to fail?

You probably already know the habits of effective boards. Be deliberate and strategic in your recruitment. Provide new members with a comprehensive orientation, including an outline of the basic responsibilities of board service and the unique expectations of your board. Give them the chance to review and rate their own performance as a board at least annually. And, provide a regular mechanism for reviewing the CEOs performance and offer constructive feedback.

Even though you know these “best practices,” you’re still not doing them. Why?

We get it, you’re busy. You’ve got a million things on your plate, and this just hasn’t risen to the top of the list yet.

What if you could wave a magic wand to take all that information out of the books and put it into a practical, actionable, step-by-step guide?

Well, that is exactly what the Nonprofit Wizards have done. We offer the following tools to help:

(not so) Magical Board Recruitment: a step-by-step guide
