The stage is set long before the first meeting.
Today we are joined by Topher Hansen, President and CEO of CenterPointe. Since 1973, CenterPointe has been offering compassionate care to people suffering from mental health and substance use disorders. With an emphasis on treating the whole person, CenterPointe is unique–offering a full continuum of support services from treatment to rehabilitation to housing.
Topher believes a strong board begets a strong organization, and vice versa. However, the key determinants of board strength start long before the first meeting. Careful selection and a deliberate onboarding process are critically important as are a solid orientation.
Rest assured, this episode doesn’t fixate on theory. Topher gets into the “nuts and bolts” of his identification, recruitment, and onboarding process. You’ll want to take notes for this one!
